Rural Secretariat Community Kitchen Conversations

2006 -2007 – To host a series of community conversations to meet face to face with residents to demonstrate and talk about potential for web portal to act as hub of local information exchange. Production of video to promote community, ROC and best practices of community building.

HRM – Festival of the Bays (2 positions)

2004 – Plan, coordinate, promote & facilitate community Festival involving variety of groups – week long schedule of events, culminating in open air concert. Build community. Volunteer support.

Office of Learning Technology -Developmental (2 positions)

2003 -2004 – To conduct a 6 month Community Asset Mapping and proposal for pilot project – Development of web portal

EAS Employment Councilor

2003- 2004 – To use our technology and resources to conduct job skills workshops, career counseling, career action planning, job placement services, and job finding clubs, while providing high quality, up to date labour market information.

Digital Histories Project (5 Positions)

2002-2003 – To explore, collect, and digitize the personal and community histories of the immediate area. Provide training to community participants in the area of digital multimedia including audio, image and video recording and editing, animation, web design, image and file optimization for the web, interview skills, and more. This aspect of the project in partnership with HRM and NS Department of Tourism and Culture. The end product was a Digital Heritage website and CD-ROM.
